What makes Kate Spade so cool?

Simplicity. And her book, Style which I think is way cooler than any fabulous puddle jumping shoes that she could come up with. I’ve enabled the “Search Inside” link below.

Style is one of those books that you should own. It lists such a fabulous collection of all things chic and . You could give this book as a present to your grandmother or a seventeen year old like me! Kate Spade successfully bridges the age gaps by excluding trends and including all things fabulous.

The book covers colors to patterns to seasonal style and is chock full of little stylish tidbits from film, fashion history, and good old common sense.

Some things that I picked up on after the read:

A great and lengthy list of Old Hollywood movies worth watching

“The heat index shoots up when you combine nighttime black with hot pink“

How about combining a deep brown with canary yellow?

turquoise and tangerine.

oodles of basic clothing definitions from A-line to Zipper.

Style begins with a sense of who you are and your self confidence. Style comes from opening yourself to the world around you–to books and movies, art, music,travel, and especially to other people.

The book is only part of a series. She also came out with two other books, Manners and Occasions. In my opinion, Style is still the first and best of the triage.
